here's a little about me ...

I'm a strategist.

I am a consultant for nonprofits and mission-driven companies with more than 15 years experience in social impact. My expertise is in strategic planning, goals, and okrs; grassroots organizing and campaign strategy; management and leadership; metrics, measurement, and evaluation; and new projects and startups.

I have successfully supported organizations from 1 - 300 staff members for long and short-term projects. I have a particular passion for new projects, teams, and organizations, having built and launched some of the earliest projects at Change.org, the Obama Foundation, and others.

Before that, I spent a decade leading advocacy campaigns on gender equity, domestic violence/sexual assault/human trafficking, economic justice and workers' rights, criminal justice reform, and civic engagement. I have been a featured speaker at SXSW, and my work has been featured in the Washington Post, BBC, TIME, CNN, and other national publications.

I'm a geek.

I first fell in love with science fiction and fantasy as a child, and my dedication to social justice was shaped by it. Hermione Granger's fight for house elves’ rights, Jeff Noon's visions of the possibilities of human cognition, and the X-Files’ dark government conspiracies have inspired me to imagine not just what this world is, but what it can be. My geekiness translates into all my work through a love of great stories, obsessive attention to detail, and intense absorption in projects.

In 2016 I co-founded FutureShift -- an organization at the intersection of speculative fiction and social change. We help organizations and people solve real problems by imagining better futures.

In addition to sci-fi and fantasy, I love geeking out about cooking, feminism, and 90's pop music.
